Environmental Technician Community Planning & Natural Resources Full-Time The Environmental Technician works on a variety of projects in support of the Narragansett Indian Tribe's Natural Resources Department (NITNRD), requiring willingness to perform technical, scientific, educaiton and labor related activities. The position assists the NITNRD in the completion of tasks outlined in a variety of grant funded programs including, but not limited to, the United States Environmental Proteciton Agency's (USEPA) General Assistance Program (GAP), Clean Water Act (CWA) 106, Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) Natural Resources funded prgramss, and USFWA Tribal Wildlife Grants. The Environmental Technician will be responsible for and assist with the monitoring, sampling, assessment, restoration and protection of the Flora, Fauna and aquatic resources of the Narragansett Tribe. The Environmental Technician will participate and assist in the development of environmental/natural resources management projects, grant development, development of management plans, Quality Assurance Project Plans (QAPP), and outreach programs and will serve to protect the environment and environmental health of tribal lands and the membership. The position must also understand and utilize the Global Positioning System and Geographic Information Software and equipment.
